Assistant Teacher – 4500 Posts

Directorate of Elementary Education, Assam

The Directorate of Elementary Education (DEE), Assam, has announced a recruitment drive for 4,500 Assistant Teacher positions in Lower Primary (LP) and Upper Primary (UP) schools. The online application process is open from February 15, 2025, to March 31, 2025.

Vacancy:

Lower Primary (LP) Assistant Teacher: 2,900 posts

Upper Primary (UP) Assistant Teacher: 1,600 posts

Education qualification:

Assistant Teacher (LP):

Higher Secondary/Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks.
2-year Diploma in Elementary Education.
Qualified in Assam TET or Central TET for Lower Primary School.
Total Vacancies: 4,500 (2,900 for LP schools and 1,600 for UP schools)

Assistant Teacher (UP):

Graduate from a UGC-recognized university.
2-year Diploma in Elementary Education or Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) or Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.).
Qualified in Assam TET or Central TET for Upper Primary School.

Age limit:

General: 18 to 40 years

Ex-Servicemen: up to 42 years

OBC/MOBC: up to 43 years

SC/ST(P)/ST(H): up to 45 years

Persons with Disability (PWD): up to 50 years

Eligibility:

Candidates must have passed either the Assam Teacher Eligibility Test (ATET) or the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET). The age limit is 18-40 years, with some relaxations for reserved categories

Salary:

The pay scale ranges from ₹14,000 to ₹70,000, along with applicable grade pay and other allowances as per government norms.
