The Agniveer MR position is part of the Indian Navy’s new Agnipath Scheme, offering young individuals an opportunity to serve in the Navy for a four-year period as part of a transformative defense initiative.

Educational Qualification:

Candidates must have passed the Matriculation Examination (Class 10) with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate from Boards of School Education recognized by the Ministry of Education, Government of India.

Age Limit:

• Applicants should be between 17½ to 21 years on the day of enrollment.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Chef: Preparation of food as per menu (both vegetarian and non-vegetarian), accounting of ration, and maintaining cleanliness in the cooking area.
• Steward: Serving food in officers’ messes, housekeeping, accounting of funds, wine and stores, preparation of menu, etc.
• Hygienist: Maintaining hygiene in washrooms and other areas.
  Selection Process:

1. Stage I – Online Examination: Candidates undergo an online test covering subjects relevant to the position.
2. Stage II – Written Examination: Shortlisted candidates from Stage I are called for a written test.

Physical Fitness Test (PFT):

• For Male Candidates:
  • 1.6 km run in 6 minutes 30 seconds
  • 20 squats (Uthak Baithak)
  • 15 push-ups
  • 15 bent knee sit-ups
• For Female Candidates:
  • 1.6 km run in 8 minutes
  • 15 squats (Uthak Baithak)
  • 10 push-ups
  • 10 bent knee sit-ups

4.Medical Examination:

Candidates who qualify in the PFT undergo a medical examination to ensure they meet the medical standards set by the Indian Navy.

Training:

• Selected candidates will undergo Basic Training at
  INS Chilka, followed by professional training in the allotted trade at various Naval Training Establishments.

Service Locations:

• After training, Agniveers are posted on:
  • Warships (across the Indian Ocean and other areas)
  • Naval Bases, Ports, and Establishments across India, such as:
    • Mumbai
    • Visakhapatnam
    • Kochi
    • Goa
    • Chennai
    • Port Blair
    • Karwar
    • Kolkata and others.
